Efusion First visit (13-Feb-08)
And students,Gary, raul_genius, darksilver, undertaker, imposter, suyongcheng, fayt, shu, frkman and not Hafiz.
Imagine our Aeronautical students Telemarketing (market SPH magazines) and personal loan processing.
This is SPH link, http://circulation.sph.com.sg/worldatyourdoorstep/
Gee some of us cannot accept the fact but hey take it positively and our own learning journey.
Here are some discsussions that we had today:
1) Quota for Telemarketing, there are other factors that are considered besides not meeting the quota as long as we try our best to deliver.
I have also requested your supervisor not to set too high an expectation as we are all students with no experience and only serve Efusion as a contract employees.
2) To rotate your work scope is not possible as this will require additional training and it is too short a time.
3) frkman needs to go for driving basic theory test on 11-Mar, I have informed Joce and I will follow up in am email to them. I will copy you too, frkman.
4) fayt430 is supposed to get back to me on the team's decision to have Pi..zz..a dinner with me before ITP completes (sort like a graduation ceremony) not really la haha, get to know you better.
No sweat guys, but I would like to come down and have lunch with you guys (go on dutch haha)
will let you all know when ok thanks. See u.
Today's visit to Kieser (13-Feb-08)
met up with Pauline and students, fanhui3, alloy, summersnow, androidz and cghua.
I was happy to see that the students are hands-on in assisting their supervisor in the shop floor. However I have advised everyone to ask questions and find out more in-depth with regards to their work.
For example, cghua is assigned to a CNC Milling operation, he will need to ask questions with nregards to the programming, capacity, maitenance activities and what is the optimum output for this machine.
In this way we optimise our learning while in ITP, correct guys :)
Here are some of the status that was discussed today:
1) fanhui3 needs to go for driving theory test on 27-Feb-08, requested Pauline to release you.
However there will be no pay during your off period (half-day from 12pm onwards)
2) As for Androiz, he needs to go for practical driving test on 27-Mar-08, again I have requested Pauline to release you, no pay whether you choose half or one day off. Please inform Pauline and myself too.
3) Wearing of SP dust coat is allowed. Therefore please bring yr set to work.
4) As for OT, you may decide not to perform but please inform Mr Ong (nickname is Ah Koon)
5) Lastly the request for students to voice out and communicate with your supervisors and Pauline is important. Please do so.
6) Alloy to prepare the shopfloor process chart
7) Summersnow to discuss with group and decide on a date for pi...zza with me ( a gathering) :)
Letter of Introduction (Part 4)
Thank you fanhui3 who has sent his LOI to me.
So this LOI chapter can close.
Thank You the support and hope that you have taken my comments positively.

Working Life
Since the ITP has started this week, many of you will be experiencing working life
9-to-5 job.
I remember my ITP at Yeo Hiap Seng at Bukit Timah where bottled drinks cost me 5cents only
It was tough as a group of us were assigned to this Technical officer and we had the opportunity to hands-on working small projects in groups.
This was really an experience for me especially that was my first time working.
Did it prepare me for working life when I graduate, perhaps but it brought me memories of friendship, teamwork and realistic views of working.
So please let me know on your thoughts in working in the current company
and as we progress in these 2 months i will try honestly to post comments
from your respective supervisors.
We are all here to learn.
